Marc Gobeil – Director at Large
Marc has been involved with CPF and other institutions with respect to FSL in his role as the Director, French Immersion Studies, University of Ottawa. He formulated the vision, strategic planning and objectives of this unique academic option for second language learners with the goal of increasing registration and enhancing the university’s reputation. He established scholarship incentives for CPF Concours d’art oratoire at the University of Ottawa, liaised with members and exhibitor booths at CPF National conferences to promote post-secondary opportunities for youth to pursue French studies, and he has also authored several featured articles for the national CPF Magazine.
Marc is currently on secondment as Deputy Director, Office of the Secretary to the Governor General. He provides briefing and policy advisory services, oversees the conduct of environmental analysis on major domestic and international issues impacting the Governor General’s activities and acts as Ministerial representative during official and State visits.
Marc is highly proficient in both of Canada’s official languages, and is personally and professionally committed to promoting bilingual learning opportunities and serves on several national and provincial partner organization committees. He participates in university and community group panel presentations, and at official languages stakeholder events. Marc is also a proud father of two growing sons and an ultimate frisbee aficionado.
