Call for Nominations to the CPF National Board of Directors is now CLOSED

Are you committed to strengthening French second language opportunities for youth in Canada? Canadian Parents for French is calling for nominations to its National Board and your governance experience, passion and vision are in demand!

The National Board of Canadian Parents for French is responsible for the governance and strategic direction of a national network 26,000 members strong. We are seeking diverse individuals with a genuine interest in furthering bilingualism, an awareness of issues related to French language learning, and who are willing to promote linguistic duality and liaise with our partners and stakeholders.

Is this you or someone you know?

CPF’s ideal candidate can demonstrate experience in  strategic thinking, governance, advocacy, change and risk management, human resource leadership and volunteer engagement. Candidates should be self–directed, good at problem solving, and value lifelong learning. Candidates should also possess a strong teamwork and leadership ethic, along with effective communication skills. Experience on volunteer governance boards including CPF Chapter and in financial administration are also considered significant assets.

Candidates for the National Board must be CPF members. Board positions are voluntary and include some travel. The time commitment will vary based on the Board’s needs; a few days per month is likely, in addition to attendance of multi-day board meetings (approximately four times per year), for which all reasonable travel, meals, and accommodation expenses are covered. Any current CPF member can nominate another person as a candidate or nominate themselves. If you would like to nominate someone, please ensure that you have their agreement, and then forward the candidate’s résumé and cover letter, with “CPF Board Candidate” as the subject line, to the committee chair, Kate Peters, at kpeters@cpf.ca

Candidates and nominees are requested to review the Privacy and Protection of Information Statement prior to their submission of interest.

Please note: Any nominee who is currently serving on a Branch or Chapter board will be required to resign from that position prior to election to the CPF National Board. Any person who is receiving remuneration for work commissioned by CPF must wait one year after the completion of their contract/employment termination to submit their candidacy. Please contact Kate Peters with any questions about potential candidates.
