The Nominating Committee met to review and update procedural documents including the Nominating Policy, Process Calendar and Board of Service Chart. With input provided from the Board, existing skill gaps were identified to ensure composition of a strongly equipped and well-appointed National Board of Directors. The Call for Interest to the CPF National Board of Directors is being circulated to the Network this coming week. For the coming term, we are seeking: candidates that can demonstrate experience in strategic thinking, governance, advocacy, change and risk management, human resource leadership and volunteer engagement. Candidates should be self-directed, good at problem solving, and value lifelong learning. Candidates should also possess a strong teamwork and leadership ethic, along with effective communication skills. Experience on volunteer governance boards, experience with CPF Branch/Chapter Boards, and in financial administration are also considered significant assets. Candidates for the National Board must be CPF members at the time of application. CPF recruitment efforts reach out to a broad and diverse pool of possible candidates to ensure that volunteer demographics reflect the community we serve. We encourage all interested volunteers regardless of race, age, national origin, colour, religion, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, physical disability or other factors unrelated to the placement to consider submitting their candidacy. We welcome nominations from each of our provinces and territories. ACTION: Branches are encouraged to circulate the Call for Interest among its membership as well as with like-minded partners. Any current CPF member can nominate another person as a candidate or nominate themselves. If you would like to nominate someone, please ensure that you have their agreement, and then forward the candidate’s résumé and cover letter, with “CPF Board Candidate” as the subject line, to the committee chair, Nancy McKeraghan, at president@cpf.ca. Deadline for receipt of nominations is May 7rd, 2019. |
