National Canadian Film Day (CanFilmDay) a REEL Canada initiative, is a massive, coast-to-coast-to-coast salute to Canadian cinema! Launched in 2014, CanFilmDay has brought together hundreds of thousands of Canadians, to celebrate our stories and the incredible achievements of our filmmakers.
Whether you host a screening or attend one, watch from the comfort of your home or join the party on social media, CanFilmDay is your day to feel connected to our cultures and shared values. Canadian Parents for French was proud to participate once again in this celebration on April 19th, 2023 organized in partnership with REEL Canada.
Across the CPF Network, we hosted events both virtually and in person at schools and theatres. In total, nearly 300 participants tuned into our movie screenings from across Canada! We can’t wait for next year’s edition!
2023 Highlights
Total number of participants: Approximately 25 0 in-person + 44 families virtually
Number of events: 6 (2 in schools, 4 in a theatre or virtually) across five provinces and territories.
“REEL Canada made the experience easy and everything was communicated well! We were so grateful to show the film in both English and French. The film package arrived timely and our Principal facilitated the link to our teachers for the their classroom viewing. I believe the event went well. I wasn’t there but was kept in the loop by the administration. Thank you again for the opportunity. It’s wonderful to offer these fun activities to our learners.” – Tara, CPF Saanich Chapter
