Have you ever felt stuck – wanting to do more with your child at home to support their French, but not knowing what or how?

This hour-long workshop is focused on concrete resources you can do with your child to support their French at home. We quickly go over how kids learn to read, then launch into resources. We’ll cover books suggestions, technology, and parent-led activities that will help your child develop their French reading foundation. There will be a range of resources covered, so whether you’re struggling to say “bonjour” or if you’re fluent in French, you’ll come away with a specific routine you can do at home over the summer that meaningfully supports your child.

This will also provide a starting point for parents wishing to know how to learn to read in French to help their child. Between summer resources, Nicole will cover a few SoundStories – French grammar rules explained as a story to help the rules make sense to you and your child!

Join Nicole Balston, a K-12 certified French immersion teacher, for tips and concrete strategies for parents supporting their child learning to read in French. Nicole is a reading specialist whose specialty is teaching students (and parents) the rules behind the French code so they can read confidently in French. She is passionate about giving parents concrete strategies to support French immersion…even if they don’t know French themselves!

This webinar is free and open exclusively to Canadian Parents for French members. A Zoom link will be provided by email to all registered participants prior to the session.
