E-Training for Family Support Practitioners

Canadian Parents for French is excited to announce the official course launch of “French Footprints: FSL in the Early Years” in partnership with Families Canada and 123 Petits Pas. Designed for Anglophone family support practitioners, this e-training takes a holistic approach to provide learners with the confidence, knowledge and skills to deliver French as a Second Language (FSL) learning opportunities within early years environments.

Bilingualism, and FSL learning opportunities, are proven by research to provide developmental benefits to children both short-term and long-term. As awareness increases around the benefits of FSL learning (cognitive, cultural, economic, social and employment), there continues to be rapidly growing enrollment in FSL programs. In effort of ongoing initiatives to promote and advocate for bilingualism across Canada, it is imperative that we extend reach and support early childhood education settings in targeting early bilingualism.

Project Overview

French Footprints: FSL in the Early Years is comprised of 4 evidence-based modules and has a strong focus on translating theory into practice.
